My grandfather has not been doing well lately. He has been going through depression for a couple years now after his daughter (my mother) entered into a permanent vegetative state. Seeing your eldest child (and the only one nearby) go through that had a big effect on him. Last year he lost a toe to diabetes.
Now recently he has been doing worse. This summer was tough for him. I was home from school and I could tell it was difficult for him to walk at times, he was a bit depressed, and that his health is in decline.
Before I left home for school this Thanksgiving, he mentioned how he wanted to talk to me since I'm the oldest grandson and he doesn't think he has much time left. We never did talk and he says we'll do that when I go down for Christmas break.
When I spoke to my dad yesterday, he said that my grandfather had a hard time walking short distances when they were together. He also said my grandfather was a little swollen.
I'm worried about my grandfather and will start praying the Rosary or Divine Mercy Chaplet daily for him.
