Confused about "Freedom of Conscience"

I saw on a post from someone who mentioned this.

here is the post

"Freedom of conscience" means that if your conscience does convict you, and tell you that it's wrong to do some good thing (give money to an alcoholic homeless person, join the Catholic Church, etc.) that you cannot and should not be compelled to do that good thing, and if you do do it, even while your conscience convicts you, it's sin, even though it's an objectively good thing.

whoa! this is freaky! Does this mean that I am sinning if I go to church when my conscience says I shouldn't go?

am I sinning if my conscience tells me its a good idea to kill myself or murder people, but I refuse to do it?

I don't understand this at all. My scruple meter is going off on this one! And as you have probably seen, my conscience tries to make me believe alot of non-sinful things are wrong so I have to believe all those things are wrong?
