The US House of Representatives Tuesday night finally passed 241 to 180 additional emergency funding for the people devastated by Hurricane Sandy. In the vote, only 49 Republicans joined 192 Democrats to approve it, while only one Democrat but 179 Republicans voted to oppose the help.

Instead as with avoiding the fiscal cliff earlier in the month, this vote proceeded which resulted in passage by garnering mostly Democratic votes with only a minority of Republicans joining in. .
