About yourself....!

Well this is a kick in the pants. I guess they got new hamsters to spin the server wheels, because we finally have our own little board to call "home".

This is a thread so you can tell people a little bit about yourself, what you do in IT, a bit about yourself and your faith, and other such things.

My name is Richard Morin, and I'm on contract with HP. I recently moved over to the Project Management team, before that I was a Server Administrator who built and deployed servers and server environments. My contract is up at the end of January, either they will keep me or let me go. I'm currently looking for something else, but I'll be honest that I want to stay with HP.

Credentials wise, I have a few. MCITP Enterprise Administrator is one of them. Specifically, I handle failover clustering and high availability storage. I'm also good with Active Directory.

I'll soon be going back to school for CompSci part time, while working full time. While being married to a great woman and my 1.5 year old son.

Faith wise, my love of mendicant spirituality is well known on CAF. Once their summer break is done, I'm going to start attending the local Secular Franciscan group and begin my discernment process with them. I've been volunteering at a parish that has Life Teen for nine years now, and I currently run their RCIA program for youth/young adults. Other than faith and family, I consider youth ministry the most important thing in the world, and I do whatever I can to assist. I'm also a percussionist, and I play percussion at Mass.

I enjoy video games (GUILD WARS 2 IS FINALLY COMING), trading card games (Magic: The Gathering, Yugioh), board games (Settlers, Risk: 2210, and I recently just got the second edition of Descent), and comic books.

So yeah, I'm a nerd who does IT. I'm starting to get back into shape after hurting my back, which is hard work but also fun. I'm 180 pounds without doing any activity, so actually doing physical actions will result in some weight loss, which means I'll have to eat more!
