The school where I work is planning a St. Baldwick's event. Lately, I've been quite suspicious of charities, not just because of their tendency to put money squarely into anti-life hands, but also because of their tendency to put money into the hands of their administrators. Does anyone know anything about this charity? It seems to finance mostly research and I don't see any evidence that they help families afford care for their children with cancer. Is their research morally acceptable? What percentage of the money donated goes to help cancer patients?
I'm somewhat in an uncomfortable situation because I'm usually on the committee of whatever service project our kids participate in, however, I don't want to participate in a shady charity organization. Any resources would be appreciated.
