Hello World:
This might be somewhat of a shot in the dark, but I am going to ask anyway...
I am studying for the CPA Exam sections right now. And, as if it wasn't driving me crazy enough, it's driving everyone else around me crazy as well. Simply put - not too many people enjoy lengthy lectures in advanced accounting theory. Most people dont like short lectures on the basic accounting, so...
But yesterday I ran into a lady who works at a local church, who is studying to be a CPA, and I realized she might benefit from listening to me ramble on. I'm ahead of her because she is still in school, whereas I am at the licensing exams phases, so for her to see what I am confronted with behooves her because she'll use the knowledge to get a bead on what to study in her classes for her own future exams when the time comes.
So I called, and she thinks it is a great idea, but her availability is rather limited. I'm going to teach her about once a week, but I could use more talk. I learn a lot by talking and teaching, so then I thought - hmmm... maybe there are some accountants in this forum who would like to just do accounting chat over the phone or something? I am very respectful of the phone, so I do not intend to misuse it at all.
If anyone's interested, I'm in the Becker CPA Review Courses right now - and my Regulations test (Tax and Business Law) is on November 14th, then I switch over to focus on the Financial sections of the exam. Additionally, I pulled a 3.6 in my accounting program, so, while I am actually reviewing, I think I'll be able to offer some good "instruction" to anyone interested.
Anyway, it seemed worth a shot. Post here if you like, or you can feel free to PM me to discuss any details.
