Contradiction within the church on the multi-verse theory?

So I have heard that catholics are allowed to believe in the multi-verse theory..which claims that there is human life or alternate versions of ourselves on other planets in different universes..

but yet I came across a condemnation from a pope

This is what he condemned..

717c (3) That God created another world than this one, and that in its time many other men and women existed...


This seems like a contradiction...how can an infallible church contradict itself?....confused:eek:
