Prayer and memory

I had a cerebral hemmorrage a few years ago...one of the deficits left is memory issues..
Sometimes I wish to say a prayer for someone, but dont remember their names...is it alright just to visualize the person??
Hubby and I are history buffs also, and sometimes when we visit a battlefield I am compelled to start some Hail Marys and Our fathers,...tho not sure who I am doing them for..Then I dont have a name or any idea what they looked like??
Do you think it still helps them??
